The owners of this beautiful listed farmhouse were undertaking a total refurbishment plus a number of extensions. This was an interesting project as the house has parts dating back to the 15th Century. Due to the age and style of the house the windows were small, meaning the house could seem dark inside. We were hired to improve the general light levels to make the rooms lighter.
Also, during the build, interesting architectural features were uncovered. A wall was stripped back exposing original wooden supports. We took the opportunity to highlight these with stylish up-lights to further enhance the character of this lovely house. A bonus was achieved by recycling lights from one part of the house to another. They were used more efficiently further improving the light levels whilst saving the owners money over installing brand new lights. This is now a cosy, country home in keeping with the age and style of the property.
