Spicer’s House is an 11,000 sq. ft. mansion and was a complete re-build by a speculative developer on a private estate in Surrey.
Our brief was to provide an architectural lighting design and specification that provided as much “bang for their bucks” as possible and showcased the state of the art KNX whole house home automation system. Spicer’s House was staged for sale quite extensively with the developer clients selecting and supplying their own decorative lighting along a theme of copper colours whilst we supplied the architectural lighting.
As with all speculative builds one of the main challenges is not knowing exactly where the purchaser’s furniture will go or if they will change the use of the rooms from what was intended by the developer. Therefore, the lighting scheme for Spicer’s House was designed to be as flexible as possible to appeal to the widest market. Along with highlighting details such as the hallway pilasters this ensured that the house always looked it’s best for viewings and showed that these developers go the extra mile.
